Sirius Investors: Decline in OEM Take Rate Something to Watch
      Brandon,

Adjust their targets downward??? Where......to zero? All those numbers had to have been factored by now. Come on.....this action going on now has absolutely nothing to do with quarterly financials. My god, Circuit City has filed for BK and it is selling above SIRI! Look where GM is! Would you invest in that company right now? No, no, the share price has nothing to do with fundamentals any more.

      Three Reasons for Sirius Aggravation
Another good example of this concept is private toll roads. Toll road operators are always complaining that they are losing money. So they raise prices, and still lose money because after a certain point (the kink in the demand curve), people will not pay anymore for the priviledge of using the road. All they need to do is lower the price to increase usage. The costs are relatively fixed; it doesn't matter how many cars use the toll road. So, the more cars they can get on the toll road, the more their profit. Very simple concept.....but they don't get it!

      Three Reasons for Sirius Aggravation
      Brandon,

Your article is so right on, it is scary! I have been reading your blogs for several months now, and some of the critical replies, but I must tell you that this one is the best thing you have ever done. I am a marketing type in the manufacturing world, and your comments about automobile companies pricing themselves out of business is exactly right on. Here is the fallacy: every time a manufacturer starts losing money (or making less profit) they raise prices. Can you guess what usually happens? Sure, less people buy the product. The result is less revenue and, again, even lower profit. So, they raise prices again, and maybe even downsize, laying off some key people. The quality of the product and efficiency goes down (due to overwork of those still drawing a paycheck). Does this cycle sound familiar? Why doesn't it ever occur to do what you suggested? Lower the price and sell more units! This will drive increased revenue and profits. In economics, it is called the elastic demand curve. It won't work in all situations, but it is rarely ever considered. I believe it could work in the automobile industry.

Sirius Finally Provides Wall Street the Clarity It Demanded
Regarding the R/S, do you really think you are going to be able to prevent that? I am against the R/S, but look how many shares are held by insiders or those who would benefit from a R/S. The way proxy votes are handled almost always favor the incumbant Board and their ballot measures. I am afraid that we don't stand a chance of voting it down.

Sirius-XM Merger Decision Delay Is Unacceptable
Thank you 16388! I called those numbers and they are, in fact, the correct office numbers for each of the commissioners of the FCC. I strongly suggest that each and everyone who posts here, call those numbers and leave your message (they won't take your call but they will allow you to leave a message on their voice mail). That's as good as it gets, but it is a lot better than sounding off on this blog, if you really want to put pressure on them.

Georgetown Partners' Latest Radio Proposal Raises Many Questions
Fellow stockholders of Sirius and XM, instead of just sounding off with comments that are only read by others with the same concerns, let's take action. I propose that on this Friday, 7/11, every stockholder of either company, call or email your representative in congress with a complaint about the FCC stalling tactic. As a group, on a single day, we can have a voice that will have a much better chance at being heard. This is the only way to combat the lobbyists and political backroom dealing that has stalled approval by the FCC. Between now and Friday, find out who your representative is and how best to contact them. There are several million of us and we can succeed if we work together!

      Barron's Debunks Cramer
I have been reading Cramer's recommendations since late last year and have kept a log on the stocks he has recommended. Most of them have not done well. There is usually an initial bump after he recommends a stock and then it settles back. I don't think he as any more insight than I do at this point. I wish he would just shut up and let the maket (and investors) play it out without him trying to influence it.

aerius and Mr. Trent just don't get it. SBUX is no longer perceived as having a product that is so much better than their competitors. Yes, SBUX will keep the die-hards, but lose a large number of casual customers. Most people today, don't feel the need to pay that much for a satisfying cup of joe. Econ 101....price-demand curve; they're over the top and heading down!

Is Microvision Ready For a Big Fall?
Woodshedder is right on! Any hedge fund manager that would make such comments without identifying themselves is a coward. Furthermore, he thinks by trying to sound like he is an expert in the field, he can dupe the investing public. He's in trouble and is trying to steal a way out of it. He's probably invested a sizable amount on shorts and realizes he is about to get creamed. Microvision is not an undercaptialized startup as hedgie would like you to believe. The reasons he cites for being concerned about Microvision's prospects, are the very reasons to go long on this stock.
