      The Manipulation of Gold Prices
      Question - so if Gold goes to $2k in the short term, and $7.5k to $9k in the longer term (and as you say, returning to a gold standard prevents hyperinflation), what is your forecast towards other commodities including Oil, etc? The reason I ask is that if the other commodities also go up by a factor of 5-10x their current prices, how is that not hyper-inflation?

      Are you saying that somehow, magically, if gold goes up 10x due to a gold standard, that it will decouple from the other commodities, and they will remain low?

      The Future of Gaming: Why EA and Take Two Have It Wrong
      Well... Yoville doesn't charge a subscription fee. Are they planning on making all of their profit from advertising? It's not exactly a great game either. Plenty of other small game development companies putting out better products, too.

      Hi Chris, just wanted to thank you on your recommendations on AIR. It's been doing quite well for me (although admittedly, I'm down to 1/3 of my previous position).

      35% of respondents to a NABE survey released today say demand in their industry is falling, with 30% saying demand is higher. Every time since 1982 that weak demand has overtaken strong, the economy has later proved to be in a recession.
      Nah, the "fundamentals of the economy are strong"! You betcha!

      (*cough, cough*)

      I own some SLV, but it seems that in the short term, deflation still rules the day. I've read more than one article preaching short term deflation followed by hyper inflation as the gov't + Fed try to stop the stagflation. Mark mentions the hyper inflation part, but I don't see anyone talking about the short term deflation that we've been experiencing.

      5 Reasons to Ignore Buffett
      My immediate thought regarding this article is that there are probably lots of lawyers and doctors who make more than $100k/year. Probably mostly depends on what part of the country.

      There's a reason why Buffett does so well. He doesn't move with the herd. The herd follows him.

      Thanks, Chris!

      I have cashed out 2/3 of my position, but still plan on holding onto my last 1/3 of AAR. I managed to get lucky and catch the temporary bottom of ~10. I'll rebuy if it dips again.

      Using ETFs to Beat the Market with Lower Risk
      @Aalan

      You're right of course: The 12 month performance of SPY is down about 35% while SSO is down about 65%. It's up to investors to decide if that's big enough of a difference, I guess.

      The writer's basic idea still holds water to a certain extent, however.

      Enjoyed the commentary. While I hope the bottom is in, it seems pretty doubtful that yesterday (and today) is nothing more than a bear market bounce.
