iPhone Sales Drastically Surpass Q4 Consensus; Apple Reaches 10m Goal
I'm looking at the current weakness as a buying opportunity, but I'm gonna wait just a little bit longer. I find it funny though how everyone was making a big deal about rising energy costs hurting the consumer, now energy is coming way down which gives people more discretionary spending on things like Apple products, but bam, somehow the consumer is hurting now more than ever. It seems to me that the energy collapse has to at least somewhat offset any credit related issues.

I think the initial Iphone craze within the investing community has died down, the problem being how Apple accounts for that revenue. We hear all these great and glorious figures but they aren't reflect in some basic metrics like the PE ratio. There's a lot of people out there that won't touch a stock like Apple just because of it's PE and until we get to 8/8 quarters into the earnings, I think it's going to hurt the stock performance because people just looking at trailing and forward PE are going to be dissatisfied.

      Verizon's Anti-iPhone PR Campaign
Well, I've had my iphone (3g) now for 4 days. For whatever reason, I left the Apple store with 2.0.1. On my way home I had one dropped call. Since updating to 2.0.2 I haven't experienced any drops. The Iphone itself is awesome, there's so many cool functions and applications, however I do have to agree that the ATT service is crap (I'm coming from Verizon which I've had for the last 7 or 8 years). I'm barely able to get 3G, when I have it it's usually 1 bar which is sqaut. On Edge, even with a full signal, I can't get page loads on Safari or connect to Itunes to search apps. Edge is pretty much like having a very poor dial up connection. I'm hoping that the 3G issue is more just localized around my house as I'm on vacation this week so I haven't yet been able to test the network from my normal everyday locations. Hopefully when I'm at the shore over the next few days I'll be able to get a clear 3G signal. Other than ATT's network, I love the phone, I just wish we were free to choose the carrier.

Apple: Great Company with Lofty Valuation - Due for Pullback
I think long term Apple is going up but I am looking at that chart and thinking to myself that there's been two runs on $200, both falling short, and the second peak lower than the first. That leads me to thinking that this is a risky stock right now. I've got sell orders on my positions all through the 180's, then I'm gonna just sit back and wait. I'll have a 40% plus gain so I''m happy.

Sirius Stock Up as CEO Buys Two Million Shares
Wow, this guy owns so much of the company, contrast what he's been doing to say the CEO of CHK who's bought over $200 million in shares in 2008 alone and now has ownership of more than 2% of the company. Get up to about 30 million shares Mel so it's more relative to someone who really does believe in their company and I'll start to believe.

      FCC Finally Approves Sirius-XM Merger
Personally I'll never pay for music or even talk, and I think most people would agree. A 7% increase or whatever it was in retail sales isn't all that great. The 53% new car increase is misleading because I would believe most of those people won';t renew after the included subscription ends. The concept is definitely a loser, has been a loser, and will always be a loser.

Apple vs. Bank of America: When "Whisper Numbers" Come Home to Roost
I agree with your "game" aspect but disagree with you when you state that prior earnings don't matter. Apple increased yesterday from the open 'because they beat' (personally I think it should be "because analysts missed' or something similar). Certain stockholders panicked yesterday mainly because of the low balled guidance. The only reason the stock moved up over the course of the day is because people looked at that earnings beat and remembered the similar situation from the previous qtr, realizing that what Apple says about the future really doesn't have much weight, BUT had Apple not beaten that reassurance definitely wouldn't have been there and this stock would have continued to deteriorate during the day. I think had Apple come in lower than the estimates yesterday, even a penny lower, we'd be at about 130 today, not 165. We'd have opened at about 145 and continued lower, not higher.

I'd say I have to agree with you on most items although I am thinking of selling my long positions pre November. I don't think I can risk an Obama White House increasing the Capital Gain.

iPhone Demand Surprises Even Apple Bulls
Apple's not going to move at all for a week (either up of down)...people are worried about earnings. It would be nice thought to see Apple beat AND announce a stock split....those would be great catalysts.

Did Apple Manufacture a First-Day iPhone Shortage?
I'm long Apple stock, but I have to admit that they are a shady company....everything that they do is calculated to squeeze the consumer, and their products are over priced to boot.

Just one little example....the battery that you have to pay someone to switch out in the iphone...what a load of crap, all designed to make you pay more.

iPhone Can Replace Laptops for Majority of Computer Users
I still don't have an iphone since my Verizon contract doesn't end until next month, but I highly doubt I'll be coming home and reading up on stocks on the iphone when I eventually do get one. What I will be able to do however is surf the web from places I've never done it before, like when I had to wait for my girlfriend at the dentist office bored out of my mind. The iphone is pretty cool from what I can tell, but sorry, my laptop is here to stay for browsing at home.

Can Apple Double Its iPhone Sales Goal?
Apple's not going to offer an Iphone Light. That would be called the 2G model @ 4GB, the "lightest" version. You can't even get the 2G 16GB right now, so I think that speaks pretty much for itself in terms of offering a Light.
