Tip For Buying Postage Stamps At A Discount
While you can purchase postage stamps at discount warehouses stores such as Costco to save a few pennies, it's possible to get postage stamps at more than 10% off their face value by purchasing them through stamp dealers such as hgitner.com:
Discounted postage, simply put, is US postage sold under face value. This postage is perfectly legal to sell, buy and use on all your USPS mail. The secret is that the volume of stamps sold to collectors over the last 50 years is enormous: often much larger than the demand from today's collectors. When these stamps were purchased, the post office received full face value for them. Today, when large accumulations come on the market, our position as a one of the largest US mint stamp dealerships allow us to buy them in bulk at current market prices, often below face value...The stamps which have not appreciated in value to collectors, we can now offer to you for your postage needs at less than face value.
Stamps do have to be purchased in lots with a face value of $100 or more and it's not possible to choose the exact stamps you want. Still, these deals are excellent for anyone who sends a lot of mail, and especially for those who do so as part of their business. Simply purchasing stamps from a new source can instantly reap double-digit savings on shipping costs.

Another tip for postage savings although only 5%: I do all mailing and buying of stamps at the local grocery store which has a small PO branch. I use my 5% off grocery Citi credit card. Surprisingly it always goes through under the name of my grocery store and so is elegible for the 5% discount. I know, usually just a few cents here and there but it all adds up especially when buying a roll of stamps.
Hi: Can you give me a phone number from your credit card so that I can find a 5% grocery City credit card? Have searched their website and found only 3%. Thank you.

My brother because of his situation sells meals for stamps and forwards the stamps to me for resale.

A quality tip and certainly worth checking out if your grocery store has a small PO branch in it. I know the PO branch at my local grocery store goes through as a PO transaction and thus doesn't get the 5% back, so it must be on a case by case basis and you'll have to check for yourself if it works in your area.
Diane's tip yields a 39 cent stamp for 37 cents. But as Jeffrey states, it doesn't work at all POs. And what if your grocery store doesn't have a PO? All of my local grocery stores sell books of stamps at their customer service counter. These transactions always go through under the grocery store.
While you're at it, check to see if the store sells gift cards. If you're planning to make a trip to Home Depot or Starbucks, purchase one of these gift cards at the store and you'll get 5% back instead of the 1% that you'd receive at HD or Starbucks.
Finally, if you don't have a Citi card and you want to check out which card is best for you based on your spending habits. Check out the cash back comparison calculator.
I can be reached at saidshakur@aol.com for the 15% discounted stamps.
Also search ebay for discount postage. Often it is available at 85%.
With the Citibank card. The 5% off grocery store purchases was a card that they no longer offer to new customers. You may check out the Citibank Drivers edge card that gives you the discounted 6% for the 1st year plus $1.00 every 100 miles to drive.
Another tip is the grocery stores sometimes offer stamps at the cashier if they don't have a PO inside and the ones in the South (Kroger and Pubix) do not upcharge this server. So I buy mine that way.
Regarding the Aug 07 posting. That was 2007 and the stamps are no longer available. Sa'id
