Make Your MBA More Affordable
Education is expensive. With private universities costing more than $40,000 per year, just saving enough money to put your kids through college is a daunting task. The thought of going back to school for an MBA for yourself seems ridiculous. However, there are a couple of ways that you can make it more affordable.
Many firms offer tuition reimbursements. They want you to become a more productive worker and are therefore willing to invest in you.
Employees have to provide proof of enrollment and show that they are succeeding academically, and the company then reimburses the employee for his or her tuition outlay and then deducts the cost.
If you own your own business, you may be able to write off your MBA as a business expense. Your MBA must maintain or improve your skills in your current profession. If it enables you to start a new career or enter a new field, you're not eligible for a write-off. Speak to your accountant, and verify that you qualify.
