It's that wonderful time of year again, back-to-school. For some of us, it means that our children will be at school during the day, and for others, it means our kids will be far away in a university on the other side of the country. Bed Bath & Beyond sells several styles of lamps for under $20. Their five light, multi-colored lamp ($19.99) is perfect for brightening up any bleak dorm room. Their steel torch lamp ($19.99) has a sleeker look for the more sophisticated college student.
On a more practical note, Target sells a triple-shelf extended closet organizer ($19.99). Three shelves hang under the clothes, allowing more efficient storage. They also sell a closet/pantry 24-pocket organizer ($24.99), which can store shoes or dry goods in its mesh pockets as it hangs from a closet or pantry door.
Consider doing some of your dorm room shopping online. Amazon.com sells a corduroy sphere chair that is both stylish, comfortable and practical. It's spacious but folds up into a carrying case for easy storage, and at $49.99, you can't beat the price.
